Nudie Cohn (1902-1984) was a Ukrainian born tailor who became famous in America for his decorative rhinestone-covered suits, popularly known at "Nudie Suits." He designed elaborate outfits for some of the most famous celebrities of his era and was also famous for his customized automobiles which included silver-dollar studded dashboards, pistol door handles and gearshifts, extended rear bumpers, and large longhorn steer hood ornaments. One of his customized "Nudie Mobiles" (a Cadillac El Dorado) now adorns a wall on the main stage of Nudie's Honky Tonk and is insured for $400,000.

Nudie dressed everyone from Ronald Reagan to John Wayne, and created the $10,000 gold lamé suit worn by Elvis Presley on the cover of his "50,000 Elvis Fans Can't be Wrong" album.  Nudie is seen here with some of the stars he dressed, including Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, John Wayne and more.
